Each borough is described by its housing stock, its water supply and the fault that dominates it, because a lead supply pipe in N1 and a scaled cylinder in CR0 are not the same job. Which London boroughs do you cover?
Sixteen London boroughs: Islington, Camden, Westminster, Hackney, Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, Wandsworth, Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Tower Hamlets, Greenwich, Croydon, Bromley, Barnet and Ealing. Engineers travel to the property in each. Anywhere outside those sixteen is not attended.
The sixteen divide into four working groups by geography, and the grouping is how a route is built rather than how a marketing map is drawn. Central and inner north covers Islington, Camden, Westminster and Hackney. Inner west and south-west covers Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, Wandsworth and Lambeth. Inner south and east covers Southwark, Lewisham, Tower Hamlets and Greenwich. Outer London covers Croydon, Bromley, Barnet and Ealing.
Rillwater works out of 32 Northampton Square, London EC1V 0ES, inside the London Borough of Islington, and the engineers are directly employed rather than subcontracted from a panel. Ten further UK cities hold reserved pages in the site map that publish nothing at all, because no engineer can attend them.
Is my postcode inside the area?
One field settles it: enter the outward code and the checker returns a yes or a no against the sixteen attended boroughs. N1, NW3, SW11, SE16, CR0 and W5 are inside. The sixteen boroughs are also printed in full beneath the field, so the answer survives with scripting disabled.
The outward code is the first half of a UK postcode — the letters and digits before the space. It is the part that resolves to a district, which is why the checker asks for it rather than for a full address. A code on the boundary between two boroughs returns the borough the delivery district sits in, and the engineer confirms the street on the call.
The checker matches against real postcode sets held in the theme, not against a decorative list. A postcode that returns no is a postcode Rillwater does not attend, and no booking is offered against it.
What is different about plumbing in each borough?
Four things differ borough by borough: the housing stock, the fault that dominates it, the water supplier and the water hardness. Islington is Georgian and Victorian terrace on lead supply pipe. Camden is basement conversion on pumped drainage. Croydon is the hardest water in the capital.

A heat interface unit is the flat-level plate assembly that takes heat from a building’s shared circuit and passes it to that flat’s radiators and hot water. It is the reason a Tower Hamlets diagnosis starts inside the flat and a Westminster diagnosis starts at the riser.
Coverage settles where an engineer will travel. It does not settle what the water and the building will have done to the plumbing once they get there, and those two decide the job.
Who supplies the water where I live, and how hard is it?
Three companies supply London: Thames Water across most of the capital, Affinity Water in parts of the north-west, and SES Water in parts of the south. Most of London is hard water, meaning high dissolved calcium that deposits limescale on every heated surface it touches.
Hardness is set by the geology the water passes through, not by the borough boundary, so two streets in the same borough are supplied at different figures where they sit in different zones. Every supplier publishes a postcode hardness lookup, and that lookup is the only figure worth acting on for a specific address.
⚠ No hardness figure is published on this page. Read it from your own supplier’s postcode lookup — Thames Water, Affinity Water or SES Water — and check the date on the page you read it from, because supply zones are reconfigured and a figure quoted from memory is a figure that was true once.
How is an attendance time agreed?
One line, answered 24 hours a day: 07446 375079. The attendance window is agreed on that call, before anyone travels, and it is set by where the engineer is working at the time. No window is published per borough, because distance on the day decides it and a printed figure would not.
Publishing “45 minutes to Camden” would be a number invented for a page rather than measured on a road. Traffic, the hour, and the job the engineer is finishing move real attendance far more than the distance between two boroughs does. The window given on the call accounts for all three, and it is confirmed in writing with the engineer’s name before the visit.
What happens if my postcode is not on the list?
Two outcomes, and only two: the checker returns a plain no, and no booking is offered against that postcode. Ten UK cities outside London hold reserved pages that publish nothing until an engineer can attend, because a service page for a place we cannot reach generates a call we refuse.
Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol, Liverpool, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Nottingham and Newcastle are the ten. Each holds a reserved URL and a written brief, and each stays unpublished until a local engineer exists. That decision costs traffic and it is taken deliberately: a page ranking for a city nobody can attend converts a search into a refusal, which is worse for the searcher than not appearing at all.
